Abstract
We will focus on basic wavelet theory, design of Haar wavelet. Further, we will investigate the problem of visual evoked potential (VEP) estimation. The most important aspect of the estimation schemes to be discussed is that, the estimation is performed on single trials. The main focus will be on nonparametric, estimation methods, i.e. no model based assumptions are needed. We classify these methods as linear and nonlinear estimation schemes according to their behavior.

The linear estimation schemes will be based on subband decomposition of a template signal and single trial signal to be estimated. Signal dependent basis functions will be obtained by subband decomposition of the template signal derived from ensemble average. An amplitude scaled and latency corrected copy of each basis function will be created with the help of an optimal coefficient vector. The unknown optimal coefficient vector is unique for each subband of the particular observed single trial VEP signal to be considered for estimation. It is determined in such a way that minimizes the sum of squared error between the basis function and the respective subband of the observed single trial signal to be estimated. Finally, the estimated single trial VEP signal is obtained as a linear combination of a few highest energy, amplitude scaled and latency corrected basis functions.

Some nonlinear estimation schemes will be discussed. To localize the VEP activity of interest with the nonlinear estimation schemes, we try to use across the trial information in the transformed (wavelet) domain.

Abstract

Introduction to cloud computing describing Cloud computing as a model for enabling  ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network  access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or client and service provider interaction. Cloud computing deployment models:  How Cloud computing can be deployed using 3 models: Private, Public and Hybrid cloud. Cloud computing service models: 3 service models in cloud which are also called as SPI model namely, Iaas(Infrastructure as a Service), Paas(Platform as a service) and Saas (Software as a service) will be discussed. Benefits of cloud computing: Some of the Cloud computing benefits like Broad network access, Resource pooling, rapid elasticity, measured service and on demand access will be explained. Connecting to real world scenario: How organizations use cloud computing to scale up their existing IT infrastructure; Architecture of cloud computing: how a private cloud can be used for college network or enterprises private network and public cloud can be used when the cloud need to be accessed from outside network.

Abstract

Supercomputing has become the need of daily life as the computing requirements for applications and devices have moved from hundreds of FLOPS to TFLOPS and still moving even beyond that.  The traditional way of achieving this computing power was from CPUs where perf per watt is very low. With the introduction of Heterogeneous architectures like GPUs from NVIDIA, next generation computing has changed.  The GPU evolved from its humble beginnings as a VGA accelerator to become a massively parallel general processor for heterogeneous computing systems. This talk will provide the introduction to GPU computing and CUDA architecture, basic programming model using CUDA and eco-system around. This will also include use case for better understanding of CUDA related code. Finally it will cover a perspective on upcoming architectures and development directions.
