About us

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Sardar Patel Institute of Technology has achieved enviable academic ranking in a short span of time and holds the distinction of being counted among the best when it comes to imparting high-calibre undergraduate technical education. The institute has consistently attracted the top 5% rankers at entry level and has also recorded the highest first- year engineering results for the last three years among all institutes affiliated to Mumbai University. A dedicated, highly qualified and hardworking faculty ensures that we hold a distinction for registering one of the best campus placements among Mumbai University engineering institutes with top-ranking companies vying for the best slots during placement months.

The institute is an emerging hub of research in contemporary technologies and areas like Cloud Computing , Embedded Systems and has also initiated a "Technology Business Incubation Cell" to encourage budding entrepreneurs including alumni. Although the institute imparts education at the undergraduate level, we have a growing research culture which is reflected in the fact that many faculty members have national and international journal and conference publications as well as well-researched books to their credit.

As an extension of our interest in being a centre for continuous learning and research we organized a "National
Conference on Biomedical Engineering" in March 2006 and an international colloquium in collaboration with IEEE- R10 on recent trends and advances in Information, Software and Communication Technologies in February 2008. Both the conferences attracted high-quality research work by academicians and practitioners with a shared interest in tools, techniques and technology and were well-received by the participants.

The proposed conference is a continuation of our efforts to engage ourselves in a continuous dialogue with future trends in technologies so that we as an institute can surpass our own stature at two levels: to bridge the ever- present gap between the classroom and the industry and to establish our institute as a centre of excellence by familiarizing ourselves with contemporary trends.
